Marilyn Monroe and her Visit to Banff National Park in 1953

    In 1953, Marilyn Monroe stayed at The Fairmont Banff Springs while filming the movie River of No Return. While she was here, she sprained her ankle while filming a scene.

    Despite the injury, she continued to work on the movie and even managed to complete all her scenes. After the movie wrapped, she left Alberta and never returned. However, her time here left a lasting impression on those who met her and she is still remembered fondly by many.
